The vast majority of College Football fans are fed up with the BCS. Most however, do not know what they can do to help bring about change to a system that declares a Champion through opinions and computer numbers. If you want to know what you can do to help bring about change, here are a few things that you can do.
1) Contact the people that run the BCS - Athletic Directors and President of the Universities - and inform them that you prefer a Playoff to the Bowl System. (Remember, the NIT Tournament in Basketball exists just as the NCAA Tournament).
2) With hold your donation(s) to your alma mater. Instead, send the Athletic Director, University President and/or Board Members a copy of the book “Death to the BCS” by Dan Wetzel. Do not donate money to the school until everyone at the University fully supports and makes a push for a Playoff.
3) Do not buy tickets or attend any bowl games, especially BCS bowls. Do not watch the bowl games. Ticket sales and TV ratings drive the money for the bowls, which in turn cause the BCS system to remain in place.
4) Consider donating to Playoff Pac. Playoff Pac is a federal political action committee dedicated to delivering a post season championship through a Playoff for College Football. Through the research work of Playoff Pac, it has been discovered that the Fiesta Bowl, Orange Bowl and Sugar Bowl have had numerous tax violations.
If College Football fans that wanted a Playoff would start doing the items mentioned above, a Playoff can become a reality sooner than later!
Throughout the years of its existance, teams from virtually all conferences in Division 1 have been left out of a chance for what they deserve, which is to play for a True National Championship Title. All excuses for not having a Playoff are just that, excuses! The bowl games can continue to exist even with a Playoff, just as the NIT tournament continues to exist in College Basketball.
This site was created in 2007, after its owners received an email response from questions sent to the BCS in regards to the NCAA having a Division 1 Playoff.
Our proposed solution would allow every football player in Division 1 the same benefits that every other Athlete in every other Division 1 sport has, which is the opportunity to compete each year for a National Championship! That is the mission of this site.
If you really want a Playoff, please take action! Please sign our petition and tell other College Football fans, players, coaches, administrators and sponsors of College Football, ALONG WITH ELECTED GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS to start doing the things that can and will make a difference.
As Dan Wetzel of Yahoo Sports has said, the “BCS is not about determining a champion. It’s about bowl directors maintaining millionaire lifestyles.”
A playoff system won’t ever happen. Too much money in the bowls.
Guys you really need to market this site in order to effectuate the change that EVERYBODY wants! Lets get a discussion going about how to get this site infront of NCAA Football fans everywhere! It is about time somebody started this movement!
Great content! Keep up the good work!
Right On! Let’s take the voting bias out of the SEC. This would also stimulate greater fan interest - look at the phenomenal hype around NCAA Basketball’s Championship…
The only way we can get them to change is to hurt them where it counts $. It’s hard to do and don’t know if I could do it, but if we stopped going to bowl games(at least the BCS ones) and didn’t watch them. If your team happened to make it, then go to a sports bar. Don’t look it up on the net. Don’t even talk about the BCS games. It’s drastic and well unrealistic, but that would bring them to their knees. If we can get organized and to it one year it would have an effect.
Put his out on facebook.
